MetaVR Delivers Visual System to the LBE Marketplace

With the "Alcatraz the Ride" at Six Flags, Jackson NJ, featuring visuals by VRSG, MetaVR entered the Location-Based Entertainment (LBE) market as a provider of high-fidelity visual systems suitable for the commercial market. The system, which opened at Six Flags in May 2004, features MetaVR's synchronized multi-channel capability, and consists of three simulators, each using six channels and analysis stations for total of 20 licenses.

Each simulator has a full-motion cockpit with an edge-blended dome display simulating an Apache Longbow helicopter scenario of a rescue effort centered around the San Francisco Bay. In order to support the theme-park and LBE market, MetaVR's system provides video-like image quality but with the interactivity of a real-time visual simulation. The system was first on display at the IAAPA ( International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions) annual convention and trade show in October 2000 where it won "Best Exhibit" award.
