The Foxhound MRAP vehicle, formerly known as the Ocelot before it went into production, is a light protected patrol vehicle. The vehicle is equipped with specialized protection against roadside bombs and improvised explosive devices (IED)s. The design is modular; components can be removed easily and the protective pod where up to six people can sit is interchangeable to allow easy modification according to the vehicle's role. Its cabin is made of advanced composite materials. Critical parts are contained within the V-shaped armored hull that deflects potential blasts away from the pod, thus protecting the occupants and key components. The wheels function independently so that the vehicle's other wheels can continue to work if one is damaged or blown off.

The Foxhound can weigh up to 17,000 lb. when loaded, reach a speed of 50 mph in 19.75 seconds, and has a maximum speed of 70 mph. (photo: MTL Group.)
