VRSG Support for DI-Guy Dismounted Infantry Visualization

In addition to VRSG's native character simulation, VRSG supports DI-Guy character simulation software for dismounted infantry visualization. The values you choose for Character Type and Appearance in the Di-Guy Character Viewer (shown above) correspond to what one would enter in the VRSG ModelMap.ini.

In addition to VRSG's native character simulation, VRSG supports DI-Guy character simulation software. VRSG can render detailed dismounted infantry using Boston Dynamics' DI-Guy software via a plugin that is delivered with VRSG. The VRSG version 5.7 installation provides a plugin for DI-Guy version 10. To use this plugin, you must first obtain and install a DI-Guy runtime license from Boston Dynamics.

DI-Guy is software for adding life-like human characters to real-time simulated environments. Each character moves realistically, responds to simple commands, and travels about the environment as directed, responding to all commands in real time. State transitions between different postures of the simulated individual are rendered to move naturally like a real person. You can use both MetaVR’s characters and Di-Guy characters together in VRSG.
