|This real-time VRSG video is a flyover demonstration that features an F-16 entity in flight over geospecific virtual Buckley Air Force Base and the dense urban environment of Greater Denver, CO. The virtual terrain was built with 15 cm per-pixel resolution USGS imagery blended into 1 mpp underlying NAIP imagery and NED 1/3 (10 meter) elevation data. Airfield culture includes the runways, runway lights and signage, a geospecific control tower and 24 other geospecific building models, plus other cultural elements, geotypical volumetric trees, and light points. Geospecific culture models were created from publicly available photos and geolocated on the terrain. Surrounding Buckley AFB are 439,379 geospecific building models generated with Esri CityEngine. The models are initially generated in Esri CityEngine, extruded and textured from CGA rule files that define how the actual building geometry is created and textured using attributes in the OSM data, and then exported as a large culture model in FBX file format, and then converted to MetaVR’s model format. For simulating night scenes, the terrain contains thousands of cultural light points.|
